There are many benefits to remaining connected with your community after you have become a life coach. It is a fairly consistent experience that one of the reasons you were attracted to your chosen school in the first place was because of the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who also believed in something bigger than themselves.
And so it makes sense that you want to remain connected even after you have qualified, doesn’t it? It’s well known that an individual who remains connected with this type of community tends to be more successful than one that retreats back into their own world and loses the spirit of connection. And one of the main reasons they may lose that spirit of connection is because they are no longer surrounded by those that have a similar passion, a similar purpose. The coaching world is about community and connection and generosity, so remaining part of that is fulfilling on so many levels, wouldn’t you agree?
In your search for your ideal school why not go beyond what is offered in your program and look at what else is offered to keep the community connected after you have qualified in your chosen program. What extra benefits exist for you to take advantage of? Are you left to be on your own after you have qualified or is there a possibility of remaining in the community you feel at home with and continue your learning and growing journey?
So, what type of continued connection would attract you? Is it a connection where you continue to grow and learn beyond what was offered in your program, without the necessity to start from scratch again? Is it the possibility of continuing to meet and exchange ideas with other successful coaches in an environment that encourages continued self development? Is it the possibility of having exposure to those that are already successful, and are willing to share and encourage you in your own journey of success, as mentors and leaders within the community?
Is there a possibility that you too can one day be the mentor to others just starting out on their own journey? That you can pay back tenfold what you have benefited from? Are you encouraged to be part of that community?
Schools that value community and value connection have a lot to offer an individual. It is said, and certainly makes sense, that there is far more power in the collective than there is in an individual. Consider this. In one room you have a collective of individuals. And each of those individuals brings to the forum an individual strength and knowledge that no other in that same room has. And when this individual shares with the room their knowledge and skills, all those in the room benefit. For here is the full power of growth and change. When you have individuals who willingly share and are generous in supporting each other there is extreme power to succeed because everyone benefits. So a school that values this as part of what they offer you is indeed worthwhile considering when you become a life coach.
